    Succession Fund

Much has been written about the lack of long-term patient capital in support of British based businesses. Indeed the “Macmillan Gap” as it became known had it roots in the Great Depression of 1929 and was later to spawn the Industrial and Commercial Finance Corporation and various other government-led initiatives including more recently, the British Business Bank.

    What we invest in:

Seismic is a generalist investor with a thematic approach to identifying, targeting and sorting investee companies.

    Common themes are:

    • A desire on the part of the owner(s) to support the incumbent management team.
    • A desire on the part of the current business owner(s) to keep the ‘name above the door’.
    • Revenue generating and profitable.
    • UK based businesses.
    • Strong market dynamics with an identifiable ‘niche’ position.
    • Supporting the trend to ‘re-shore’ / ‘on-shore’ production to the UK.
    • Supporting customer requirements to reduce the time taken from ‘prototype to production’.

Investing in early-stage companies involves risks, including illiquidity, lack of dividends, loss of investment and dilution, and it should be done only as part of a diversified portfolio. Seismic's offerings are targeted exclusively at investors who are sufficiently sophisticated to understand these risks and make their own investment decisions.
